Sono state rivelate le nomination dei 39° Independent Spirit Awards, i principali premi del cinema indipendente americano: a dominare sono American Fiction, Past Lives e May December, ciascuno con cinque candidature. Ricordiamo che per essere eleggibili i film devono avere un budget produttivo inferiore a 30 milioni, che esclude alcuni dei titoli più importanti della stagione, come Barbie, Oppenheimer e Povere creature.
